In 1178 Emperor Frederick Barbarossa gave permission for the establishment of a Monastery at the site of the Old existing "Castle Ulrichskapelle" since 1054
In the year 1181 Emperor Frederick I visited the Monastery with his three sons Heinrich, Frederick and Philipp. Latter Barbarossa's youngest son Philipp recieved schooling at the Monastery.
After the ned of the Staufer era the Counts became Von Wurttemberg proctectors of the Monastery.
In 1565 after the reformation Christoph Binder was it's first Evangelists Abbott and developed a Prostestant Monastery School |
